VIRGIN VOYAGE

The first time

It had saved itself for us.

It waited.

And waited.

And waited somemore.

It was ready to be broken in.

We prayed that there wouldn't be any bumps or bruises along the way.

We promised to be gentle.

I am proud to announce that our Christmas Kayak is no longer a Virgin.
It's virgin voyage was virtually pain free.
did you notice the use of V's in that sentence???

Cutler Dam was the destination.

It wasn't the warmest of days, but we were sick and tired of waiting week after week for the endless amounts of rain to stop.  Does the sky never empty out???  The snow capped mountains in the background of this picture should melt oh sometime around ... September!  Just in time for Mother Nature to them to pile it on again.
I must say that Subie looks pretty good with a kayak on top
While Clayton paddled I took self portraits.

Just so you don't think that I'm a horrible wife, I DID help with the paddling.  Self portraits only took about 5 minutes max (and the fact that I took them when the wind kicked up really bad forcing Clayton to paddle harder so we didn't go over the dam does not need to be disscussed).

On our kayak trip we notice lots of wildlife.
Such as ...
Birds
and
these boys peeing on the railroad tracks.

I know you want to hear the story about how I was freezing cold (to the point of hypothermia) and Clayton took his paddle and flug a crap load of water all over my already ice block in the making body.  But I'm not gonna tell that story.

Nope.

Good times.  Can't wait to take the kayak out for more adventures.

Please pray for no more RAIN
Please pray for SUN

Seriously, this rain sucks. But I'm glad you toughed it out to further explore Cutler! Next up! Floating the canal! And seriously, I want to be you when I blog grow up.
