HAWAII

Once we left the freezing cold SF we arrived in the very warm (and BEAUTIFUL) Hawaii! We were in Hawaii from May 29th - June 7th. Mom and Dad joined us in Hawaii from May 31st - June 6th. We all had an awesome time. It helps to have married someone who has lived there and knows where to go and what to do. Here are some pictures from our many, many activities. WARNING: There are A LOT of pictures. It was hard to choose which ones to leave out.

Waimea is my absolute favorite beach in Hawaii. Clayton looks like he is about to do a belly flop, but actually it is just a bad picture of him doing a back flip off of the Waimea rock.

Before the 'rents got to Hawaii, Clayton and I went on a hike to Waimanu Falls. Waimanu Falls was more like Waimanu Trickle. But, going into the hike we knew that there wouldn't be much of a water fall since the rainy season was over. It was surprising how warm and deep that little pool of water was. There was a rope swing and if you wanted to jump in from a higher spot there was a ledge to jump off of. It was probably one of the prettiest hikes I have ever been on.

Hiking Diamond Head with mom and dad. Clayton and I did the "Titanic" pose on the hike.

Punchbowl

Pali lookout. Either dad was considering jumping or he was thinking about the FARM again!!!

Aren't mom and my "shorts wearing for the first time in his life" dad cute!

Fireworks on Wakiki Beach.

Pearl Harbor - Arizona Memorial

Swapmeet at Aloha Stadium - Clayton and dad discussing how much they hate shopping here.

Oh how I love the shave ice in Hawaii. Matsumoto's on the North Shore is the best! Clayton and I went there almost everyday.

Hiking to Makapu'u Point

Snorkeling at Turtle Bay and Hanauma Bay

We all did a session at the Laie Hawaii Temple.

Polynesian Cultural Center. Mom and Dad got to dance at the luau...how cute!

Lanikai Beach. Mom and dad's favorite thing to do in Hawaii was play paddleball. This is the beach were dad thought swimming with a cellphone would be safe! Clayton and a jellyfish.

We spent our last day on the North Shore snorkeling at Sharks Cove and swimming at Waimea. We were very sad to leave!!! But, we will be going back July 2008!

SAN FRANCISCO

On our way to Hawaii we stopped in California to visit Kami. She lives in Pleasonton which is only about 25 min (depending on crappy California traffic) from San Francisco. We flew in on Friday and stayed with her until our flight left to Hawaii on Tuesday. It was really good to see her and spend some time with her and be able use her car! As soon as we got in we dropped our stuff off at her apartment and headed into San Francisco. Here are some pictures of our San Francisco adventures.
Aquarium by the Bay. We walked through an underwater tunnel where we saw tons of sharks, sting rays, crabs, and a bunch of other fish and sea creatures I don't know the names of. Later we got to go to some pools where we could touch sharks, sting rays, and starfish.

Kami and I on Pier 39. You can see Alcatraz in the back ground.
We hiked about a billion steps to reach Coit Tower. But, the billion steps didn't seem so bad because they were surrounded by this pretty garden.

The streets in SF are extremely steep. I don't know what was more scary, Kami driving up the really steep streets in her manual Saturn or Kami driving down the "crookedest street in the world" better known as Lombard Street. Sometimes she thinks her Saturn is a race car!

Golden Gate Bridge. Mark Twain once said, "The coldest winter I ever experienced was the summer I spent in San Francisco." We found this to be very true. It was extremely cold and windy. Clayton: I was CONSTANTLY made fun of by my wife and her sister for quoting this famous comment by Mark Twain... funny thing is, about 600 other people have quoted it as well whenever we talk about San Francisco!!! Kiss my butt historic figure and quote haters (ie Kami and Heidi)!!!

These houses are known as "The Painted Ladies". To many of us they are probably better known as "The Full House Houses".

Before we went to the Full House Houses, Clayton wanted to stop and rent a Golden Retriever so we could be like the Tanner's with their dog Comet. We were lucky to find on in the park right in front of the Full House Houses.

We took a ferry to Alcatraz. Once there we took an audio tour of the prison. It was VERY interesting. Bottom pic is a veiw of SF from Alcatraz.

Us at the Oakland Temple before we went in to do a session.
