HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAMI
Isn't she just LOVELY? Some may wonder, "can a mouth really be that big?" To which I say, "yes, yes it can." Seriously, Kami you should look into entering your mouth into the Guinness Book of World Records.Kami may be the better looking Andrew, but I am by far the nicer one!!! My sister from the south (SLC) journey up on Sunday for free food from the 'rents. Below are some pictures from her pre b-day shindig...

By the way Cortney, if you don't give Clayton and I our "Office" dvd back after 5 months we will steal all your dvd's and give them away as birthday presents! Enjoy your new movies Kami!

My nephew Tydon has been sick with Pneumonia, so I was lucky to get these two "non crying" pictures.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAMI...WE LOVE YOU!
(PS - Rachel...I know that you are mad at me for posting this picture, but I can't help the fact that you chose to stick your tongue out!)

AQUARIUM AND JAZZ GAME
This ugly, ugly creature is what rich people eat at restaurants...lobster
Clayton and I touching the stingrays. I still can't get over touching them. When we were on our cruise we were able to snorkel and feed them, which was crazy. But, I still get a rush out of touching them...maybe because of the crocodile hunter (may he R.I.P)
I sure wish that the blow fish would have puffed up. It was one ugly sucka! The a
quarium worker said that it didn't feel threatened and it was too used to its environment. Clayton wanted me to punch the glass and show it my ugly mug to make it feel threatened (ok so he didn't say the "ugly mug" part, but it probably would have worked).

The fish were beautiful but I would definitely rather see them snorkeling than through glass tanks. Clayton just LOVES to have his picture taken.
Next up THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY. I have been waiting to go here since the day it opened. I thought that since it had been months since it opened that the wait wouldn't still be 2 hours. I was dead wrong. I even called ahead to see when their slow hours were. Note to all of you cheesecake lovers out there...the slow hours are between 2-4pm and there is still a 55-75 min wait! However, once we got in we were not disappointed. We ate and ate and ate... So much food... So little time... So many different cheesecakes... So little time... Feeling very ill... VERY, VERY ILL. Yep we ate ourselves sick.
***Notice NO pictures from the CCF. Clayton was having a anti camera day***
Being so sick I have no idea how we made it up to our 897 row seats at the Jazz game. Jazz won the Hawks, the ladies all swooned (what a weird word) over Kyle Korver (except me), and Clayton and I got free parking. Can't beat that.

Speaking of Kyle Korver, does anyone else think that he looks like Ashton Kutcher? Clayton strongly disagrees, but I think that they could be brothers.

THE NEW CHUCK NORRIS

1. If you have $5 and Chuck Norris has $5 , Chuck Norris has more money than you.
2. Apple pays Chuck Norris 99 cents every time he listens to a song.
3. Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.
3. When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.
4. There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.
5. Outer space exists because it's afraid to be on the same planet with Chuck Norris.
6. Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.
7. Chuck Norris counted to infinity - twice.
8. There is no chin behind Chuck Norris' beard. There is only another fist.
9. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down.
10. Chuck Norris is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head.
11. Chuck Norris doesn't wear a watch, HE decides what time it is.
12. Chuck Norris does not get frostbite. Chuck Norris bites frost.
Seriously if you haven't seen 24 GET ON IT! One of the best shows EVER....I should know I was dedicated Saturday night watcher of Walker Texas Ranger. Don't deny it you were all too. Unfortuantly, because of the writers strike we have to wait 'til January 2009 for the new season of 24. January 2009 are you kidding me!?!!!!
FLIP FLOP, SLIPPER, THONG, WHATEVER...
My feet are disgusting. Pretty much all of my toes have blisters on them... gross I know. Clayton blames it on my running shoes, I just blame it on running. But, now I think that it is my feet trying to speak to me. I think they are suffocating! They need to breathe, feel the air around them. Socks and shoes are NOT healthy! The last few days it has been a balmy 30 degrees. Spring fever has hit the McMurdie household. My general rule thumb is that if the temperature is 40 degrees or warmer it is flip flop weather. Oh glorious day of sun and warmth, please come soon...for my feet's sake.
***Clayton has taught me to use the correct terminology for flip flop, the slipper. ***
In honor of the slipper I have posted 3 pictures of my favorite brands and the most comfortable slippers EVER. The rainbow slippers (pictured above) are something that Clayton introduced me too. They are so comfortable. The slipper sole forms to your feet. Rainbow's are not just for the gays anymore...
Between Clayton and I, I think we have at least 58 pairs of Locals. You have to wear them enough to feel the comfort...in my opinion anyway. They best thing about these slippers is that you can buy them for $3-$4 bucks at the Wal*Mart. The bad news is that you can only buy them at the Wal*Mart in Hawaii (and other stores in Hawaii, and online I believe...).

Sanuk also makes an amazing slipper. They also make some pretty amazing shoes. They have come up with these shoes which are NOT really shoes. They look like a shoe, but they have the sole of a slipper. In the winter, Clayton and I live in these things. You can check them out here. Sanuk is a Thai word for happiness & balance. I for one need some slipper happiness in my life right now and my feet need to breathe.

OLD HOBBIES
I had forgotten how addicting these things can be. Aubrey asked me to help her with a puzzle she had gotten from her teacher for Christmas. After about 20 minutes she was bored of the puzzle, but NOT me. Heck, I was just getting started. I told her to let me finish the balloon, once that was finished I need to finish the butterfly, then the soccer player....yada, yada, yada. She finally abandoned me. So there I was...sitting in the dark basement hunched over the table like an old man trying to finish this puzzle. I was a little worried that when Clayton wanted to go home that I would cause a scene kicking and screaming because it wasn't finished, but lucky for him I had enough willpower to pull myself away.
One DAY he WILL write me a song on the bass or the ukulele. For now I will settle for "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole. Get on it Clayton!!!
ROUTE 60
Sunday, Nana celebrated the BIG ... (she will probably kill me if I say the #, but from some of the pic's I'm sure that you can guess...). She doesn't look a day over 29!
We love you Nana! Thanks for all you do for us. We hope you had a great Birthday.
Meet the most mischievous 2 year old ever. Don't let Chloe's look of innocence in this picture fool you! She may be a handful, but she is too cute to resist.
SKIIN' THE BEAV
Not too bad for my first time, eh!?!Ok so maybe this isn't me, but it was what my wonderful teacher Clayton thought I should be at the end of the night.
Two positives from Friday night
1. I Did Not fall getting off of the Lift once!
2. I Mastered the "Floating Leaf"
Unfortunately, I did not master carving, jumps, or anything involving my snowboard suspended in air!
My temperamental camera battery decided to die as soon as we got to the mountain, so this is the only picture I got. ENJOY!

TAGGED
Heidron wants me to do this too... So I guess I will. I'll write my AWESOME answers in blue so as to not be confused with my wife's OK answers.
A- Attached or Single? I think I am attached...Clayton am I attached??? I'm pretty sure... Definitely attached!
Welp... I'm married. WOuld that count as attached?
B- Best friend? Clayton McMurdie is my very, very, very best friend, but my mom and sisters come in second.
Heidron Jo Andrew McMurdie. She's pretty cool and she laughs at all my jokes.
C- Cake or pie? Are we talking ice cream cake? Cuz if so then definitely the cake. But if not then pie, but it MUST have ice cream with it.
CAKE you IDIOTS!!! Chocolate cake with a layer of chocolate pudding and a layer of whipped cream for the frosting.
D- Day of choice? Friday @ 5:00pm - Sunday @ 6:00pm. I live for the weekends. They are the only thing that gets me through the work week.
PRobably Saturday. I like to not go to work.
E- Essential Item? Definitely my fat pants (i.e. sweats, warm-ups, basketball shorts, etc.). Remember good ol' Mister Rogers and how he would take off his jacket and replace it with a girly cardigan? That is how I am with my fat pants after work. I am rarely seen outside of work without my fat pants on. Have I let myself go??? I think not...I thrive on comfort. Plus I think Clayton finds them sexy...
That would be my face. It's my moneymaker...
F- Favorite Color? Cougar blue! Yes, I am probably obsessed with the BYU (a.ka. or as Clayton says "the mother school"), but I'm only telling it like it is.
Blue! Blue is best
G- Gummy Bears or Worms? to eat, worms. To watch, Gummy Bears. Remember the old school Gummy Bears show? Awesome
Gummy stuff sucks. Except for the above mentioned cartoon. That was exceptional...
H- Home town? Trenton, Utah
TREMONTON UTAH BABY!!!! WOOHOO! GO BEARS (insert sarcasm...)
I- Favorite Indulgence? Let's call this one guilty pleasure. I love Hannah Montana and High School Musical. We actually tried to get tickets to Hannah Montana when she came to SLC, but all our many efforts failed. The fact that Clayton tried to get tickets to Hannah shows how much he loves me, because he doesn't enjoy the Hannah.
Probably porn. KIDDING!!! I have a lot of stuff that I indulge in... however the most secret would be my love for building excel spreadsheets. That's right... I am the biggest dork alive. But holy crap you should see my loan amortization sheet.
J- January or July? Depends on where I am living. Hawaii, Fiji, Tonga, Tahiti, ect. I would love January. Utah I would take July. I love the heat. Anything below 80 degrees is tooo cold! Speaking of which...Rachel can we please turn our heat up? 68 is freezing.
Well January did welcome in the most wonderful person alive... ME. Oh yeah, and my wife... But I would have to say that I enjoy July better. I hate the cold.
K- Kids? Just one. Clayton. I must pick up his clothes, do his laundry, sew and iron his clothes, make his bed, and give him baths. hahaha. I rarely, rarely cook for him though.
Five... SubieWanKanubie, Subie Two, An Ernie Ball Sterling, a Warwick Streamer Stage II, and a Warwick Thumb. For those who don't recognize my kids, those would be our cars and my basses.
L- Life isn't complete without? Family, a good sense of humor and ice cream (with chunks...ice cream CAN NOT be plain)
My lovely wife Heidi. She is my world... even though she may not believe it.
M- Marriage date? August 4, 2005
Ditto
N- Number of brothers and sisters? Non that are worth mentioning. Just kidding. Geez...calm down Rachel and Kami! 2 wonderful sisters, Kami and Rachel and 2 ok brothers (kidding again!) Cortney and Brandon
I have an older brother Zac who passed away and a sister named Jessica.
O- Oranges or Apples? I love all fruit, but I am a seasonal fruit person. Oranges in the winter and Apples in the summer.
Apples get stuck in my teeth and oranges make my fingers super smelly/sticky so they both piss me off. However, if fed to my fat lazy butt with no effort on my part... ORANGES
P- Phobia and fears? Snakes, my husband dying, and riding in a car which my dad or sister Kami is driving(absolutely terrifying)
Pooping. I don't like having to do it in front of people. If I'm in a public restroom and someone comes in after me, I clam up and can't narfle the garthog until the room is empty again. Pooping and Spiders.
Q- Quote? "You can't have it. I don't walk into your house and steal your Hello Kitty backpack." from The Office.
"I'm what Willis was talkin 'bout"
R- Reason to smile? waking up to my husband. (say it with me people "ahhh...cute"), eating a big bowl of ice cream (smile melts when I realize how much I ate), getting though a good run, being with family, the Gospel, having vacuum lines on my carpet, and beating Clayton in croquet and other games.
Kicking the crap out of Guitar Hero
S- Season of choice? Garlic salt...love it! Ok so wrong season. Love the summer. The hotter the better.
Late spring/early summer
T- Tag three people? Clayton, and anyone else who wants too.
Why would I do something like that? This crap took me an hour!
U- Unknown fact about me? I think that I have a slight case of OCD. When ever I leave the house I have to check each room to make sure all the lights are off (I actually have to touch the switch to make sure it is down and then say aloud "off"), check to make sure my chi and hairdryer are unplugged (say aloud "unplugged"), and make sure the doors are all locked (and say aloud "locked"). And if there is any, ANY doubt that I forgot something I have to go through the whole process again. It sometimes takes me 10 minutes to leave the house.
I'm a cryer! I'm a wuss and will cry in movies. Hell, I'll even cry when "letters from home" by John Michael Montgomery or "When I get where I'm going" by Brad Paisley come on the radio. I also have to hold back the tears when people tell me stories of how incredible my dad is, or when I think about how proud I am of him. My dad is my hero. Holy crap... I teared up writing this.
V- Vegetable? corn on the cobb from the garden
Same as Heidron... Corn on the cob. Cob is a hard word to spell...
W- Worst habit? being impatient, biting my nails, and popping other people's zits (gross I know)
Criticizing my wife for picking at her face or nails.
X- X-ray or Ultrasound? If ultrasound means there is a baby in me then I will take X-ray. Maybe someday I look forward to the baby ultrasound...i hope.
What a dumb question. How bout Xylophone or Harpsichord? Xfiles or American Idol? Professor X or Magneto? Rated X or Rated G? I guess I'll go with the X-ray...?
Y- Your favorite food? McMurdie steaks, pizza and ice cream (with chunks)
I eat it all! I especially love steak, roast beef w/mashed potatoes and gravy, and mexican food.
Z- Zodiac sign? Aquarius
CAPRICORN!!!

NEW FIRST PRESIDENCY

I know that I have posted 3 things today, but I had to post this last one for Clayton's sake and because it has been a very boring day at work. When I heard who was in the new First Presidency of the Church I called Clayton. We weren't surprised about President Monson being the Prophet or President Eyring being the 1st counselor, but we were surprised by Elder Uchtdorf being the 2nd Counsler. When I told Clayton that he was the 2nd Counsler he said, "Have I ever told you that I had dinner with Elder Uchtdorf when I was in Hawaii?" To which I replied (again), "Only about 80 times." We are both excited and supportive of this change in the Church.
SNOW, SNOW AND MORE SNOW
We did have a great time with our superbowl pre-game snow party. It amazes me that I have become such a wuss. I used to ski 3-4 times a week and snowshoe and neither the cold or the snow bothered me a bit. Sunday actually helped me remember (just a little bit) why I used to enjoy the snow!
SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
Clayton and I aren't huge Giants fans, but we are anti-Patriot fans. Poor Tom Brady...maybe your supermodel girlfriend can help cheer you up (please insert sarcasm during any part of that last sentence). Before I end this post I have to mention all the glorious superbowl party food we had at the McMurdie house. Jessica made hotwings (Clayton and I purchase the White Owl's secret hot wing sauce for them...delicious) and seven layer dip, Shira made lil' smoky's and a shrimp cocktail drink, and Clayton and I brought cheese cake bites and homemade chocolate covered pretzels (who am I kidding...I didn't make them, Clayton did). Keep in mind that we had just had lunch an hour before. Gotta love food, football, family and the Patriots going DOWN!
