CASPER'S ICE CREAM

CASPER'S ICE CREAM

After Glendale we met up with the family and got ice cream from Casper's.
Andrew's love their ice cream.
Ty was the only one I got a picture of.
But let's be honest...
he is the cutest.

Well that is it for now.
It has definitely been a long exhausting blog week.

GLENDALE RESERVOIR AND THE ROPE SWING

GLENDALE RESERVOIR
After we ditched the Trenton festivities we headed to Glendale and cooled off in the water and played on the rope swing.

Clayton preparing to jump

This time the rope got a hold of his nail and almost ripped it off of his finger. ouch. The result (besides a painful finger) was a painful belly flop. double ouch.

This picture does not do the damage justice.
Me
Me again.
Such form.
I'm pretty much a rockstar.
Good times...well...except the nail issue.

TRENTON 24TH OF JULY PAAAAAAAARTY

TRENTON 24th of JULY CELEBRATIONS

Most members of my family (ahem...Rachel) feel like the Trenton 24th of July festivities can be compared to Christmas. Me...not so much. Don't get me wrong they are great, until about 1230 pm. Then I get a serious case of boredom. This year was no exception. It started off great with a parade at 930 am. Clayton and I missed the first "around the block" (yes our parade is so awesome that it goes around the block multiple times) because we had to stop at Wal*Mart and pick up Cort's face scrub (apparently he can't leave the house until his face is washed...what a girl! JK Cort). However we were able to see it on it's second and third go around. In Trenton we don't throw out just any old candy...we throw out Otter Pops and garbage sacks. The picture below is of Pops throwing us some garbage bags. Pops is on town council (like he doesn't have enough to do anyway) and was in charge of the town 24th celebrations. He did a great job!
THE PARADE

FACE PAINTING

Remember back in 2008 when Cort, Clayton and I raced up the rock wall? OK probably not, but we did. Anyway we took a before race picture where Cort stood loud and proud (and slightly pornographic)

2008 Rock Wall
Yes folks he is still loud and proud (oh yeah and Kace joined in the race this year and yes I am wearing the same shirt in 2010 as I did in 2008)

2010 Rock Wall
(wondering where the 2009 picture is...well we were in AZ over the 24th last year)
And of course the volleyball team. Below are the members of TEAM STACKED.

HEIDRONATOR -
the power server (that should make Cort roll his eyes a time or two)
CLAYTONIOUS -
his serves are so fast they could kill you.
CORTHOLIO -
one look at his sexy legs and you know that you and your team have no chance of winning.
Sadly we did not come out champions like we did back in 2008. Just wasn't our year I guess.
And of course the DUNK TANK made an appearance.
Ty had so much fun. He never was able to dunk the guy with the softball. Of course Cort was there to coach him so that might have been why he wasn't able to hit the button with the ball. If I remember correctly he finally went up and pushed the button.
HOME RUN DERBY
The winners were both from our family
GIRLS - Kami
BOYS - Nate
Cort, Brand, Rachel also participated. Clayton and I were bored so we left during the derby and did not participate otherwise the winners mention above would have been different!
BRANDON
CORT
OTHER EXCITING EVENTS INCLUDED...
-games such as plinko, fish pond, and throw bean bag on cow's face (wood cutout with a hole for an actual person to stick their head through.
- fireman's breakfast
-lunch of hamburgers and Polish dogs (Clayton was super thrilled about the dogs)
-fireman foam
-giant slip 'n slide
-dinner
-fireworks
- zipline
missing was the cow pie contest. sad.

2nd BEST DAY EVER

After Seven Peaks we...

July 18th and July 23rd will forever be imprinted into my memory.

So there I was...It was July 18th and we were hanging out at the rents. Dad was talking about our upcoming family trip in September (aka excuse to see BYU play somewhere other than Utah) to Colorado. He proceeded to tell me that we would be staying in Centennial, Colorado. I immediately opened up the laptop and got on the Yogurtland website. Imagine my excitement to see that out of the two Yogurtland's in Colorado there was one in Centennial. Now imagine my excitement as my eyes scroll down the list of states and see UTAH! What the??? Please note that I am a freak and check this website weekly in hopes that one day there will be one in Utah. Disappointment comes weekly with the absence of UTAH. I clicked on Utah to check on the location expecting to be disappointed further by seeing and "coming soon" next to the store location. Guess what! There was no "coming soon". It was already open! I wanted to cry I was so happy. If it hadn't had been a Sunday I would have drove straight there. The rest of the night and the next few days that was all I could think about.
Obsessed - CHECK!

We planned on going to YL after Seven Peaks on July 23rd. The drive to Jordan Landing from Provo seemed 5 hours long (but that could have been because of the worst light ever that took 3 of those 5 hours). I was so excited my seatbelt could barely contain me when I saw the beloved white, green and pink "YOGURTLAND" sign.

When we got there this dude asked us if we had ever been to Yogurtland before. Ummm...duh....only a billion times in California, Arizona, and Hawaii! (Side Note: once in CA Clayton and I went to YL before we went to the beach and then again after the beach...low fat remember!) Come to find out that this "dude" was the owner. He told us that he has exclusive rights to Utah and has to open up EIGHT stores in three years. He told us that he was thinking of opening up a store in Logan and asked us our recommendations for a location. Then he gave us 10% off our orders. It. Was. Awesome. To make it even cheaper YL is only $0.30/oz which is 8 cents an oz cheaper than anywhere else we had found in Utah.

We were all so excited about YL and Utah that no one complained when I told them to cheer in this cheesy picture below. Except Kace who is pulling a classic "Nate face" and Tydon who doesn't seem to understand what is going on.

Oh Happy day!

Oh glorious day!

2nd BEST day of my LIFE (frist being August 4, 2005)

SEVEN PEAKS

SEVEN PEAKS
After the hike we headed over to meet some of the fam (Clayton, me, Rachel, Kami, Kace, Erik, and Tydon) at Seven Peaks.
Someone needs to explain to Rachel how the "crazy pose" is done
Ty in the "titty" pool
For a hilarious explanation of the "titty" comment please read HERE

Kace in the "titty" pool

We choose the darkest and scariest tube slide Seven Peaks had to offer for Ty's first ride after his near death water experience at Willard Bay. Aren't we kind!?! He took to it really well...by "well" I mean he hated every minute of it.
Boomerang (steep half pipe)
I think this is on the top 3 list of scariest rides at Seven Peaks
It. Is. Awesome.
I love this picture because it shows the sheer terror in Erik's face.
Kace is too brave.
The kid is only 7, is barely tall enough to go on the slide and he has absolutely no fear.
In fact he looks bored.
we climbed
we waited
we waited more
and more
we put our butts in the holes of the tube
we waited for the OK
we slid...
down, down and down some more
we screamed...a lot
and then it was over
ROCK ON!
Speed Breaker (blue slide)- I swear this used to be called the Sky Breaker
Also on the top 3 list for scary slides.
You catch some serious air.
Remember kids...cross your feet and put your hands behind your head.
If you don't put your hands behind your head you might get a concussion...
trust me I know!
Not that I got one, but man my head felt like a wrecking ball hit it.
Second try was much better
Kace...like I said "No Fear"
If they still made those "No Fear" shirts which were popular in the 90s I would totally buy him one.
Does that date me?
I wish I had pictures of his first attempt.
Imagine if you will...
He was in proper form.
Legs crossed - check
Hands crossed over chest - check (ok so they should have be behind his head...minor detail)
as soon as he came out of the blue tube his hand flew out and his legs were in true spread eagle form.
It was a sight I tell you.
An absolutly hilarious sight that still makes me laugh.
I think Clayton was more scared of this slide than Kace
Note to Rachel:
You could probably save a few bucks and buy the boys tubes that they can jump on.
I think that they had as much fun jumping on those as they did on the slides and in the pools
I just love this kid!
Ty wanted me to wear "two sunglasses"
Good times!
Thanks for coming family.
UP NEXT...BEST DAY EVER!

STEWART FALLS

STEWART FALLS

The 24th of July was pretty much a 2 day party. So stay tuned for mucho posts. We started out Friday bright and early with a hike to Stewart Falls up Provo Canyon (around Sundance area). Thankfully we got there just in time to beat the Mormon family of 83 (that's 83 kids not 1983) and their dog, Coco to the trailhead. On a side note: I am NOT excited to hike with children...when that day comes. Kids take too long. Back on track: The falls were beautiful.

Clayton getting ready to run under the falls.

Me getting ready to run...oh was it ever cold.
"Yay" says the girl who just got soaked by the falls as she flings her arms out like a gay man.
At 7 in the morning you don't dry too fast.
I highly recommend this hike (google it) to anyone and everyone. The trail is not difficult and is full of ferns and other green vegetation. Geez that sounds makes me sound like an idiot.
