So once upon a time there were two parents. Let's call them Mom and Pops. They were big BYU fans who have attended ALL (minus 4) the BYU home football games since 1982. Six years ago they decided to take the family to one away game each year. So far the family has trekked to Colorado twice (Air Force Academy), California three times (San Diego State twice, UCLA once),Texas once (TCU) and this year they took their family to Oregon for the Oregon State game. As a side point (this is very crucial to the story) they had a daughter who was a spectacular human being. Her name was Heidron. Mom and Pops one wish was that all of their other children would one day be as perfect as Heidron. But, alas they new that this was an impossible thing to wish for and their sights were set way too high because Heidron was just that perfect.
The end.
Great Story, huh!
So the family went to Oregon. I love Oregon. We flew into Portland and drove 3+ hours to Seal Rock (15 minutes south of Newport). We had rented a vacation house close to the beach so all 12 of us could stay in the same vicinity.
After loading up on grocery's (and $15 worth of trail mix that was gone within the hour) we hit the beach. It wasn't quite beach weather, but it was beautiful regardless.
Clayton mocking me. I have picked up this head tilt thing for pictures. It is so annoying.

We hunted starfish and ate them for dinner. (not really)
check out that rib cage!
Ty fell in the ocean. I won't say who (CORTNEY) was supposed to be watching/helping him (CORTNEY), but lets just say they didn't do a great job (CORTNEY). Poor Ty guy. It was already pretty cold and the water was freezing.
Sorry mom and Rachel. I know you have your eyes closed in this picture, but I look better in it than the other one. I'm so selfish...
It is no secret that my family loves "Deal" (Monopoly Deal for the common person). Nobody coordinated who was going to bring their deck...so we ended up bringing 4 decks. We had a tournament and I'm not sure who won. All I know is that pops failed to win a single game! He gets so mad when he loses...it is hilarious.
After listening to my brothers fart in their sleep all night, Clayton and I went for a run on the beach the next morning. It was the best beach run I have ever had. Usually I hate running on the beach but the sand was so firm from the tide that came up during the night and the scenery was so beautiful that it was almost effortless...almost.
After breakfast we drove into Newport, rented some bikes and biked around Yaquina Bay.
Yaquina Bay Lighthouse
We stopped at Mo's for some of their famous clam chowder.
Headed on over to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse
At home that night some of us attempted to fly kites on the beach (the rest of the crew continued playing *gasp* Deal)
If one thing is essential to kite flying it is wind. We were lacking that very important ingredient. The look on Ty's face says it all. When we got back to the house someone asked Ty how kite flying was. His response, "NOT GOOD."

The next morning we cleaned up and headed to Corvallis for the game. Now it wouldn't be an Andrew family outing if we didn't partake in some frozen yogurt. I had searched out Frozen Yogurt in Corvallis weeks ago. Yogurt Extreme was the only one around. It did not disappoint. Sure they only had 6-8 flavors and some of those flavors lacked creaminess, the the topping selection...oh the topping selection. They had things I had never seen before...not even at Yogurtland. A lot of the toppings I had never heard of before (crunchy gummy bears???). Clayton's favorite was the fact that you could get a whole cupcake as a topping. Another bonus...you didn't have to ask for sample cups. They were sitting in a pile by the frozen yogurt machines for all our guiltless sampling pleasure.
We were also able to meet up with Heather (Clayton's friend from BYU-Hawaii) and her husband, Blake for a bit. It was good to see Heather and finally meet Blake.
On to the game we went. Thankfully BYU won Oregon State 38-28.
After the game we celebrated Cort's birthday at Outback and checked in at the hotel. We flew home the next morning. It was sad.
Coming up...
