HAWAII (OAHU) DAY #2
Vacation = not sleeping in
Vacation = not sleeping in
We were up at 5am every morning (Clayton got up at 4am two of the days to do work stuff...what a trooper)
Bright and early Saturday morning we left Manoa and headed for the North Shore to attend a session in the Laie Temple. It was during the drive over that Clayton mentioned the irony that we were going to do work for the dead the same weekend (Easter) that Christ did work for the dead. And behold, a new tradition was born.
So I realize that I have Temple pictures of us almost every year from 2005 - 2011. One of these days I'm going to post them all in order so we can see the ageing process. That should do wonders for my self-esteem. <insert a lot of sarcasm...a lot>
Last year when we were in HI the Temple was still in the remodeling process. Isn't it beautiful!
We had a great session. Many of you already know that Clayton's Mission President is now the Temple President of the Laie Hawaii Temple. It was pretty neat that they were helping out with the session we were attending.
President and Sister Workman invited us over to their house a little later. To kill time we headed over to the point. Back in 2005 when Clayton and I were dating I stayed up on the point (in a house, not the rock).
We had a great time visiting with the Workman's. They are such amazing people.
This picture is from 2010. I forgot (shocker) to take a picture. It happens.
We eventually made our way up the North Shore and hit some of our favorite spots
Fruit Stands
Sharks Cove
Does anyone else find it weird how we take more pictures of us when we snorkel then all the sea creatures???
Waimea
Matsumoto's
Notice how Clayton is ubber thrilled to be standing in the long line
After hitting up the Surf 'N Sea we headed back to Manoa for more Lego building
End of Day #2
