HAWAII (KAUAI) DAY #9 PART A: Hike Out
Again because of the numerous pictures day 9 will also be in two posts
Sleep was not easy.
I do not wish to relive it.
So I will not tell you how I had dreams of
- State workers catching us without a permit and fining us thousands of dollars
- weird animals
- our hammock strings breaking causing us to fall on the huge rock underneath us which if we did fall would cause serious injury or even death (but hey at least they would helicopter us out so we wouldn't have to hike the 11 miles)
- Hiking out (seriously the falling on the rock was starting to look very enticing, by mornings dawn). Don't get me wrong I love to hike, but my feet were soooo tired
After a very restless nights sleep we awoke at 5am. After taking down camp (camp=hammock) we hit the trail at 530 anxious to get back and lay on the beach.
Home Sweet Home
We hiked out in 4 hours and 50 minutes...2 hours faster than we hiked in. Can you tell we were anxious to get back and relax after hiking 23 miles in a 29 hour period?
Seeing Ke'e Beach (where the trail began) was the happiest sight.
We. Did. It
BUCKET LIST* Hike the Na Pali Coast - check, Check, CHECK
Clayton was very happy to see the car.
Let the relaxing begin...
