HAWAII (KAUAI) DAY #6 part B: South Shore

HAWAII (KAUAI) DAY #6 part B: South Shore

After our adventures up the canyon we needed some beach time.  This is no rode that goes around the entire island because of the Na Pali coast.  We had already beached at the end of the road/north side of the Na Pali coast so why not beach at the end of the road/south side of the Na Pali coast.  And so we did.  And it was lovely.  I have a hard time picking out my favorite beach because they all have different charms about them.  Being on the south side/drier side of the island, Polihale not surrounded by all the lush greenery of the other beaches we had been too.  But, we loved it just the same.
 YES another day ANOTHER swimsuit
You will see them recycled in coming posts
This picture is for Jodie.  Clayton was addicted to finding shells for you.  Seriously he couldn't walk 4 steps without bending down.  It took over his Lego obsession on Oahu I guess.  Can't wait to see the necklaces...

On our way back to the hotel we stopped at Jo Jo's for some shave ice.  Like I said a few posts ago, this was my favorite shave ice place on Kauai.  They guy manning the counter looked like he would rather have his eyes gorged out than serve us, but the shave ice was fabulous.
Stopped at the "black sand" beach on our way back to the hotel.  It's really not a black sand beach, but looks that way because that is where the Waimea River meets the ocean.  The "black sand" is really sediments of the river.

End of Day 6.
peace out
