LUNCH DATE AT THE IBIS

Sticking Out...

Have you ever gone somewhere and felt like you stuck out like a sore thumb?
Here are some examples of "sticking out"

Being a black hockey player - cuz let's be honest are there any black hockey players???

along the same lines...Being a white basketball player - face the facts...evolution is taking its course and the white bball players are a dying breed

The fashionistas with their perfectly manicured hands who wear stilettos, miniskirts, and cashmere tanktops to a football game in November - i know, right!?!  Pretty sure they aren't there to watch a good game, but are there to discuss with their bff Brittany about the latest drama on Gossip Girl, Keeping up with the Kardashians, or Real Housewife's of ...

A vegan in a steakhouse - nuf said

A redneck on Rodeo Drive or 5th Avenue in New York - according to the www 5th Avenue was dubbed as "The world's most expensive shopping street"

A farmer at the lake or pool - darkest, deepest tan lines you have ever seen.  Works of art.  Signs of a hard working man.

Me at a Harry Potter movie - mostly because I don't clap, cheer, scream, and/or dress up.  hate me for it.

Anyway you get the point

This is how Clayton and I felt at...

Cafe Ibis

... a few weeks ago

Maybe I'm being extremely judgemental on this, but I have always felt that the Ibis is where all the hippies and granola's go to socialize.  Yes I own Chaco's, recycle my paper/plastics and drive Subaru... but I also shave my armpits, comb/wash my hair, and feel fine about eating non organic food.  Going here I felt a little out of my element.

Cafe Ibis is most well known for their Coffee

which we don't drink.

But they also make sandwiches

Never been to the Ibis so we thought we would give it a try.

We were going to ride the tandem there
being hippie friendly it would get props from the granola's, right?

but the rain had other plans

So we drove.
Our car.
that takes...
GAS
*gasp*

Me.
In front of Cafe Ibis.
Eyes closed and all.

Chicken Pesto sandwich and potato salad (organic I'm sure)
Oven Roasted Turkey Club and chips 'n salsa
Excellent!

We enjoyed our lunch in the back room while receiving stares from a man in the corner surly wondering what our type was doing there.

oh and I'm pretty sure the smell in the room was body odor coming from him that may or may not have been organic.

Seriously though the food was good, service was friendly, and with exception of the odd, smelly man in the back room I didn't feel like a freak of nature.

So all is well on the only one way street in Logan...Federal Ave (the Cafe Ibis street).
