So the husbands birthday was a week ago today.
Am I a horrible wife for posting this a week late? Probably
Do I have plenty of excuses why it is a week late? You betcha
Do I love my husband more than anything in this world? YES
So with no further adieu here is the birthday wrap up part one of the one and only Clayton McMurdie
This year Clayton's birthday fell on a Wednesday. Can I just say that birthday's that fall in the middle of the week (Monday-Thursday) completely and utterly suck!?! This is why I planned a birthday celebration for him on Friday and Saturday. However, I couldn't completely forget the actual birthday so I tried to make it somewhat special before the real party started on Friday.
First of all birthday's are a lot more fun when you are a kid. So I decorated the house with banners, balloons and stuff and then surprised him with a game of...
Pin the Tail on the Donkey
Yep we are 8 years old.
As lame as the game is it was pretty fun. At least I thought so.
After that gifts were given and "cake" was eaten.
He didn't want a birthday cake so I baked his favorite banana bread and put some candles in it.
Notice how all of the candles are falling down. They were honestly melting from the bottom and working their way to the top...I thought it was supposed to be the other way around.
***SKIP FORWARD 3 DAYS TO SUNDAY***
Friday and Saturday have too many pictures to put on this post. They will come later.
Sunday was his birthday dinner at his parents house. After a delicious dinner of roast chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, stuffing, veggies he opened up his presents from his parents.
The combination of being the center of attention and having his picture taken is his absolute favorite thing.
His gifts were pretty funny. His mom has been wanting him to clean out his room and take his stuff to our house forever now. I'm pretty sure throughout the next few years she will be wrapping things up from his room and giving them to him for his birthday. Like these towels from Hawaii that he got on his mission or when he was at school. I have no complaints about this one because we use beach towels like crazy in the summer. I'm just glad that it wasn't all of his old cds or old high school memorabilia. I think Clayton knows that if he brings some of that stuff to our house it will find a new home at the D.I.
His second gift really made him happy. An entire case of hair gel. He is always complaining that his hair gel gets discontinued. He found out over Christmas that his current hair gel is getting discontinued as well. So his mom, being the great person she is purchased the last case from her supplier.
Smiles all around!
Happy Birthday!
Love you Clayton!
