CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS - check
Did you know that back in the day of the pioneers they said "Happy Christmas" instead of "Merry Christmas"?
The Husband and I finally hit Candlelight Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it. I didn't think we would be there very long, but we ended up staying for a couple of hours.
For those of you who don't know, Candlelight Christmas is up at This in the Place State Park in SLC. Basically you get to experience Christmas as it was over 100 years ago. It is a little village and each one of the buildings (whether it be a home, hotel, church, assembly hall, etc) has something to offer.
Oh yeah and the have REAL reindeer (I think we were told that they were Comet and Cupid).

We took a little train ride to the top of the village. Once we got off we checked out the carolers at the Huntsman Hotel (where we could have also eaten soup and cornbread if I hadn't made Clayton take us to Yogurtland for dinner). We also stepped in and out of the Old Fashion Candy store.
Clayton has a fascination with animals. We watched this ox stand in place for 15 minutes.
Checked out one of the old homes where they were doing Christmas Crafts.
This was not the craft. This is where they peed in the middle of the night when it was too cold to go out to the outhouse.
Learned how they printed newspapers and books over 100 years ago. And received our own Christmas Card straight from the printing press.
Original, first edition of the Deseret News
Watched a puppet show that was surprisingly cute and funny
Walked in and quickly out of the house where they were learning to dance. Visited an old man who told us the original version of "Then Night Before Christmas" and explained to us what Sugar Plums and Figgy Pudding is.
Filled out the Naughty and Nice list (check out whose name was on the Naughty list)
Original BYU
Visited with Father Christmas and sat in his sleigh.
Dear Clayton,
You are right. I cover the flash way to often.
Love,
Your wife
Three posts today is good enough right?

Hahaha! Cort made the naughty list. Guess he doesn't get any presents this year. Looks like another fun time. How do you hear of these places? And....you went to Yogurtand for dinner?
I had to look again to see Cort on the naughty list. He will probably get some socks.
I was thinking of taking the YW here. Would they think it was fun? Was it cold?
