PRE-HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES

I love Halloween. I'm pretty sure it is one of my top 3 favorite holidays. There is always a ton of things to do prior to the Halloween"gorge yourself with sugar until the next day when you want to carve yourself like a pumpkin and pull out all bad stuff" fest. This year wasn't any different than past years. I made (and by made I mean I asked nicely) Clayton go around with me to certain places.

If you have ever watched the Colbert Report (highly recommend) you will know that he does "Tip of the Hat, Wag of the Finger" to certain things. The star system (i.e. 5 star rating) is so pre 2005. I am going to use the Colbert method to evaluate our activities. kapeesh!?!

Tip of the Hat to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk

First of all it is FREE and you get string cheese and cookies at the end for FREE.

Second, there is some amazing things that people can do with pumpkins. I'm a triangle eyed, toothless mouth kinda pumpkin girl myself, but these guys have the real talent. There was everything from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to the Incredible's to Indiana Jones. Here are some of my favorites.

"Hi my name is Clayton and I am in love with Batman. I make my wife watch the movies over and over and over again just because I love him soooo much."

Those of you from Cache Valley will recognize Brent in this next picture. He rides all (and I mean ALL) over the valley honking his bike horn and waving at people. I always smile whenever I see him.

Clayton and I both loved the "Mister (or Mista) T "I pity the fool who doesn't stay in school" exhibit. Classic.

I dedicate this last picture to my pre-tween days. Growing up my sisters, cousins and I would act out movies. One favorite was The Little Mermaid. I would always want to play the part of Ariel. However, my sister Rachel thought that her lovely soprano voice was more suitable for Ariel and my lovely squawker was more suitable for Flounder the fish and Scuttle the seagull, whom if you will remember correctly screeched more than sang. Thanks Rach!

Wag of the Finger to Frightmares (picture can be deceiving of true feelings)
First, I don't DON'T do lines well. Second, lines over 1.5 hours make Heidi cranky. Third, see reason's one and two.

Other notable downfalls of Frightmares -
1. Teenage boys who dress up like predators (and not the carnivore eating kind) and stalk the little girls. Now that is creepy...the arrest me creepy.

2. Since when do card board cutouts have lines? Re-frickin'diculous I tell you.

3. PRICE. Luckily we got our tickets for free. Score...kinda. Parking cost $8. If I had to pay full price we wouldn't be going.

Tip of the Hat to Corn Mazes (or is it Maizes?)
Call me crazy, but I love walking aimlessly around corn mazes. Last year we did a haunted one and when the girl from the Ring movie came out of the well Clayton about peed his pants. Loved it. This year's maze wasn't haunted, but Clayton brought an extra pair of pants "just in case."

So fun! I love Halloween and all of the festivities that go along with it. And can I just say - the fact that they give out FREE String cheese is the coolest thing ever!

Sounds like a blast! Who do you get to take all of your pictures of you and the hubby together? Random strangers? I wish Jeff and I would document our adventures more often!
