I accept apologies in the form of ice cream, chocolate, clothes, new cars, trips, money, etc.Ok the real reason for this post was that last Saturday, Clayton and I attended the last BYU home game with the 'rents. This season we have been to EVERY home game except for the New Mexico game when we were in Hawaii. However, we did fly to Texas for the TCU/BYU game which I think more than makes up for that fact. I'm pretty sure that we should have our names engraved on our seats or something.
I'm going to be honest...it wasn't the most exciting of games. BYU played SDSU and quite frankly (does anyone say "frankly" anymore besides 90 year-olds?) SDSU is not good...at all. However, there are a few highlights.Highlight number UNO - seeing our good friends TJ and Kim at half time. We think they are cool. TJ was sportin' his winter beard which Clayton couldn't get enough of. You can see Clayton's winter beard here. You can see TJ and Kim down below.
Highlight number DOS - I was able to sneak my food past the security guards this time. Last game when I opened up my purse for the guy to check he "fondled" with my stuff (uhh...that means items in purse) to see if I was hiding anything at the bottom (which of course I was). This time I put the food on the bottom, put my wallet, camera, socks (in case my feet got cold), etc on top of the food like I always do and THEN I conveniently placed two tampons on the very top. Let's see you go through my bag and feel un-awkward about it now mister security man.
Highlight number TRES - I don't know if this is a highlight or a lowlight. We have this event staff guy who watches the crowd to make sure that the aisles are clear, people aren't spitting their gum on the floor and that no one snuck a caffeine coke into the game. This guys is hilarious. I won't even attempt to explain him. He takes his job so seriously just like Dwight does on the Office with his volunteer security guard job. And he wears tons of bling-bling covering his precious digits. Anyway we kinda make fun of him. However, Dad is the worst. On our way out of the stands the following conversation happens.
DAD: We'll see you next year.
EVENT STAFF GUY: I won't be here next year.
DAD: Why?
EVENT STAFF GUY: You guys are too hard on me.
Images of Event Staff Guy climbing to the top of the stadium and hurling himself over the edge flash through my mind. Normal person would kinda feel bad. Dad couldn't stop laughing...THE ENTIRE WAY HOME! We would all bust up because how much dad was giggling (no seriously it WAS a giggle) about how mean he was to him. FYI Dad is a wonderful loving guy...he really is. You can see the event staff guy below. I used mad paint skills (again) to give him a bit of a disguise.
Highlight number CUATRO - We scored FREE nachos. Sweet.
Highlight number CINCO - Dad told a dirty joke referring to certain parts of the body on the way home. Ummmm...Awkward. Uncomfortable. Naturally Clayton thought it was hilarious. Coming from my dad it made me want to drive back to the stadium and hurl myself over the top of the stadium with the Event Staff Guy. My dad doesn't talk about "those" things. Dad doesn't KNOW about "those" things. His reasoning "you guys are married so it is OK to talk about it." I wanted to DIE!!!!!
Anyway since the game was boring those are the highlights. I would post the score, but honestly I don't remember it. I think BYU was 40 something and SDSU was 11 or something.
Peace.

I laughed so hard when you paid tribute to the event staff guy. haha. You missed the game when some of the fans bought him cotton candy and he REFUSED it! haha.. He was some good entertainment.
I can't believe you made a post about the security guy. Thats so funny. I guess the game was kinda boring and we did have to make up our own entertainment. Love your paint skills. You did him wonders.
Tampons...genius.
Oh. So. Funny.
I laughed out loud when I read about the Event Staff Guy and your dad. I even called my husband in to read it and we both got a good laugh. Being a BYU Event Staff Guy is kind of a big deal.
