OAHU FRIENDS

Clayton was supposed to finish this post for me, but he is too busy at the moment. So you will have to suffer through my mumblings

We did some (ok a lot) of awesome things on this trip, but I would have to say that the reason we had such a great time was because of the friends we saw.

PATARAY'S...what can I say!?! We love you guys.
Jodie, Marc, Kaimi and Bryson are like a second family to us. They let us crash in their upstairs for most of the trip putting up with Clayton's "girly-like" screams whenever a cockroach was around. These guys took us into their home and did pretty much everything for us but bathe us (although we did ask). Many of our highlights from this trip was the time that we spent with them going to Kaimi's football game, nightly ice cream trips (oh Yogurtland a.k.a Land of the Y's how I miss you), taking a walk to see the flowers that bloom at only at night, experiencing dragon fruit for the first time, Jodie's cooking (that is a whole post in itself), farmer's market, dinner at the in-laws (not ours obviously), cockroach fiasco, Bryson calling Clayton "doo-doo", but mostly we just enjoyed hanging out with them in their home.

So there we were...leaving the house for our nightly ice cream adventure. Bryson had spotted something outside, but nobody thought much of it. We opened the door and in flew this HUGE cockroach. A little fyi for you...Jodie, Bryson and Clayton are deathly afraid of cockroaches. Jodie bolts into the house with Bryson, trips on the carpet giving herself an awesome carpet burn and locks herself in her room all the while yelling at Clayton to kill it. Meanwhile back at "ready to pee his pants" McMurdie central Clayton is shrieking like a 3 year-old girl. However, he is forced to man up to the challenge by Jodie's screams to "GET IT" and hunts down the beast. After a multitude of attempts to find it and squash it with some lucky person's slipper the battle ends and Clayton is victorious. Good times.

MARC AND ECHO (oh yeah and one of the cutest kids ever...Adelaide)
While in HI we were able to visit some of Clayton's friends from BYUH. On occasion they come to Utah and we hang out, so it was nice to visit them on their home turf. Clayton didn't want to tell them that we were coming so that we could surprise them. We surprised them just in time to help them move into their new place. It felt good to help because I know what a pain in the...moving can be. Later that week we went to Outback (does anyone know what kinda bread they serve before the meal or even better the recipe?) and was serenaded by Mr. America Pants. We took video of the Oscar worthy performance, but sadly it would not upload right now and I am too lazy to try it again later.

REYES FAMILY
Clayton worked with the Reyes while on his mission. We wish we could have spent more time with them...but hopefully we will soon.

MIYASHIROS
I didn't get a picture of the Miyashiros this year so you will have to suffer from a picture from our 2007 trip to HI. FYI I HATE myself in this picture so I used my mad paint skills to tweak myself a bit. I feel that I am more acceptable now. Plus, I like this pic because it shows pop's sexy legs. Wooo woooo.

Brother Miyashiro is an amazing pianist. He flew to UT a few years ago to play a concert at the Brigham City tabernacle. That was the first time that I heard him and I was blown away. What makes him even more special is that he is blind. I could never be as good as him with 2 good eyes (yes, mom even if I had practiced like you had told me to I would never be at his level). He is also one of the funniest people that I have met. When we are with him and Sister Miyashiro I am constantly laughing. Sister Miyashiro is really neat too. I love to watch them interact with each other. You can really see the love. I can only hope that one day I am half the wife to Clayton that Sister Miyashiro is to Brother Miyashiro. We love you guys.

There are many friends that we weren't able to visit because of limited time on Oahu. We feel horrible about it, but hopefully...cross your fingers... (too be continued...someday)

Love it! Those are some good times. I can handle spiders, but cockroaches kill me. Gross. I'm excited to see more pics!

You guys have some pretty great friends over there in Hawaii. It was so nice of Jodi and Marc to open their house up to you. I remember the Miyashiro's. They ipmressed me so much and Ithink of them quite a bit because of their fun personalities. Can't wait for the rest of the blog.....but I know I'll have to. Glad you had a good time.

Okay, I laughed SO hard when I saw that you used your "mad paint skills to tweak" yourself in. Seriously, cracks me up! But now I am curious to see what the picture really looks like =).
