NEW YEAR, NEW THINGS

We decided that the appropriate way to celebrate a New Year was with NEW food and NEW activities.

WARNING (but not a surprise): COMPLETE PICTURE OVERLOAD.

First on the list was sled down a NEW hill in a NEWsled. Ok so it wasn't a new hill for me, but it was a new hill for Clayton. Also, we didn't own a sled so we were forced to either use our mattress (not uncommon on Old Main) or buy a sled. After pricing a new mattress and a new sled we decided (wisely) to go with the sled.

Catching air on the "big, bad" jump.

Just an example of what the front person in the sled was blessed with!

If you ignore all the inversion crap you will see a beautiful shot of the Logan Temple from the hill.
Me celebrating my triumphant victory of "fastest person up the dreaded Old Main Hill stairs" with the Rocky pose. In Clayton's defense he was carrying the sled and didn't know that we were racing until I said "Let's race, go".
After sledding we decided to replenish our systems with some NEW food at a NEW store.

Yes that is a "Big Az" burger. I had to explain to mom what "Az" stood for. Hint it isn't the abbreviation for Arizona. We didn't buy these things...just thought they looked crazy/gross/absurb/sick/wrong/interesting.
NEW store...Island Market.
Tried the pickled egg. Sick! Can safely say that I will never, ever in this lifetime eat a pickled egg again.

Also bought these NEW treats. The fruit is persimmons. Very good!
Also went and saw this NEW movie in 3d which was NEW to us because we had never seen a movie in 3d before.
Movie was not bad. Too long for my pea sized bladder though. However, I will compare it to Lord of the Rings by saying that once is enough (oh I will get hate mail for that comment).
NEW sport: Ice skating.
Skating at Merlin Olsen park (which is waaaay cooler at night with the Temple all lit up in the background) is not new to me, but is new to Clayton and we have also never ice skated together before...so that is new.

Don't let our "happy" faces in the pictures fool you...Once I strapped on the skates I realized why it has been 7+ years since I have been ice skating...IT SUCKS! Not a fan. Clayton agrees.

Well those were our NEW Year's festivities.

Wishing you all the best in 2010!
