CHRISTMAS EVE

CHRISTMAS EVE 2010
Wow. Exhausting. But LOVED every minute of it.
The first half of Christmas Eve was spent doing 4 things: pacing by the front door too see if the UPS guy had dropped off our last "must have" package, cooking (ok so mostly Clayton...4 pies, yams, stuffing, etc), wrapping presents (mostly me), running to the store for last minute stuff that we forgot about and our families forgot about.
The second half of Christmas Eve was spent with families. First up was the McMurdie Family Christmas Party. Santa was so kind to make a guest appearance.
BRADY and SANTA

HADLEE and SANTA AUBRI and SANTA CHLOE and SANTA

(sadly Chloe isn't picking her nose in the Santa picture this year)There were ornaments on the table for all the kids to color and bedazzle all up. I'm not a kid, but I still wanted to do it. And I did. And it was fun. Naturally I got the ornament that best describes myself...an ANGEL. Oh and before I forget Clayton's pies....HUGE HIT. Cousins that he hasn't spoke to in years came to shake his hand and tell him how awesome the pies were. You could hear whispers all over the room "Clayton...", "Clayton...", "Clayton". Oh and they weren't the bad whispers they were the good "He rocks at making pies" whispers. He was in Heaven. Seriously glowing.

After a light dinner we snuck out a little early and headed to Trenton for a big dinner. For the first time in ... well ... ever the whole family wasn't together. Rachel & Nate, Kami & Erik all had plans with their other families. So we made the best of it and I thought it was still fun. We had a big turkey dinner with all the fixin's. Then we played this game where a pair of dice is passed around and if you roll doubles you get to try and unwrap the present (wrapped over and over and over again with duct tape) with a pair of oven mitts or gloves.
After the game we went to Antarctica (aka the basement) to watch a 20 minute movie called the Christmas Orange (I think that was the name). Then we gave mom and dad the traditional year in review scrapbook and traded gifts with Grandma Andrew.

Then back to Logan we went.

A lot of people get pj's for Christmas. We get fat pants. Santa was kind enough to leave us some again this year. No picture. Sweats and hoodies are too sexy to post on the www.

As tradition would have it we feel asleep watching A Christmas Story

More...MUCH more to come...

I think you need to invite me over for Clayton's pies...and some of your dipped chocolates. You guys rock! I love the wrapped present/dice game idea. That sounds really fun! What was in the box?? An iPad or new Wii, perhaps???
