COAST HIGHWAY DAY 3

DAY 3

-Took a morning run to Battery Point Lighthouse in Crescent City

-Azalea Festival in Brookings. Watched the parade. cool.
-Cape Blanco Lighthouse in Port Orford. Interesting fact about this lighthouse. Do not go here unless you have hours upon hours to listen to the lighthouse volunteers (who love their job!) talk about the lighthouse. I now know how many bricks it took to build it, where the glass in the windows came from, how many stairs to the top, and daily schedule of the lighthouse keepers. Don't worry I will spare you the details because you probably care as much as we did.

-Rode in the Sand Dunes. Awesome. The landscape is amazing to see the Pacific Ocean, the trees and the dunes all at once.

-Sea Lion caves. Did you know that one of the differences between Seals and Sea Lions is that Seals are monogamous or polygamous while Sea Lions are strictly polygamous. Aren't you glad you know that? Now you know how we felt at the Cape Blanco lecture.

-Ate Oysters and delicious Clam Chowder (not as good as yours though mom) at Mo's. First time either of us had tried Oysters. Probably an acquired taste for me.
-Walked the pier in Florence, OR after dinner

-Ate all the Salt Water Taffy our hearts desired (and then some). I'm talkin' cookie dough, banana split, mango, pistachio, and millions and millions of other kinds.

love, love, love all your pics, especially the one of Clayton posing on the...ummm...not sure what it was. You're just being nice about my clam chowder, but thanks. Glad you had a good time. The lighthouses are pretty cool, but you're right, I don't really want to hear all the facts about them. Love ya

Grandma would have probably liked to have heard the info about the lighthouses. Maybe you can share it with her.
