GROVE MARKET DELI

FOOD BUCKET LIST
WHAT: Big John
WHEN: last Saturday
WHERE: Grove Market Deli in SLC
WHY: Because it was on "the list" and we were hungry
HOW: two hands and a mouth
Holy crap this sandwich was huge. They need to put a warning label on it that says "while eating please keep both hands on sandwich at all times." Seriously these pictures don't do this bad boy justice. It had ham, turkey, pastrami, corn beef, bologna, roast beef and I'm not sure what else because I'm not a meat expert and probably don't know the name of the others. The tinfoil wrapped, smaller (I use that term lightly because it wasn't really that small) half sandwich was a pulled pork sandwich. I think I almost liked it better than the Big John. The only other place I have had better pulled pork was in Hawaii.

We knew it was large, but we didn't know it was "feed a family of 8" large. Needless to say we took home left overs...which doesn't happen very often for us when we eat out.

Clayton attempting to eat half. I know I said it before, but these pictures do not do this monstrosity of a sandwich justice.

A very, very, very un-flattering picture of me attempting to eat half. Why has no one told me that I have such an odd looking nose!?!
Us in front of the Deli. No we did not plan to coordinate our outfits. I had mine on first and Clayton copied. But, if you are going to the aforementioned poor excuse for a football game it doesn't matter.
Just so you know Grove Market Deli closes early...like 3 or 4 pm. It is also in the heart of Utah (boo) Ute (double boo) territory. We walk in and were bombarded with Ute pornography. Seriously every where we looked...helmets, pictures, signs, pennants, neon Ute football player Budweiser signs, etc. I heard someone behind the deli counter mutter something about, "looks like the BYU fans are here." Was a little worried that they would spit in our sandwich, but since they made them right in front of us I knew that that we were ok.
Clayton and I gave Grove Market Deli a 10! You get a ton of excellent food for what you pay. We will be back!

Wow. The sandwich looks good and very big! You guys are very brave to go into "UTE" territory. Glad they made the sandwich in front of you though. Glad your tires were slashed. Glad you were able to cross another list off of your bucket list. hmmmmmmm...did that make sense?
