FEATS OF STRENGTH

Can I brag for a minute (or 8)? Yes? Thanks.

Clayton's bike has been at my parents house in Trenton since this excursion. Since that day he has been saying that he is going do do a biathlon to get his bike...run 15.6 miles from our house to the 'rents and then bike the 15.6 miles back. Keep in mind that Clayton has never ran a marathon or half marathon on the road. He is a maniac on the treadmill running between 15-20 miles a day. yes a DAY! I knew that this would be tough for him because running on the road is A LOT different than running on a treadmill. Not to discount treadmill runners at all because running period (on a treadmill, road, beach, gravel pit, swimming pool, haystack etc) is no piece of cake.

His goal was to run it on today, Friday. So on Thursday to prepare and motivate himself he only ran 5 miles. Later in the day I received this phone call at work

ring, ring, ring

HEIDI: this is Heidi
CLAYTON: I need your help.
HEIDI: with what?
CLAYTON: should I run my biathlon today?
HEIDI: thought you were going to run it tomorrow.
CLAYTON: ya, but the weather is perfect right now and I'm worried that it might be too cold tomorrow morning.

to spare you the boring details of our phone conversation I will just let you know that he decided to do it that day.

So at 1:40 pm yesterday Clayton took off. He arrived back at the homestead at 5:40 pm looking like this...
One giant apple-banana-strawberry-yogurt-granola-peanut butter smoothie later he looked like this
ok not really. He was pretty tired and sore. Not to mention curled up in the fetal position under our big blanket because he was freezing.

C-diddly I am so proud of you! You could totally kick Frank Costanza's butt in a Feat of Strength for Festivus. Love you lots!!!

That is totally amazing! I would be freaked out that someone would have run me over. Well, and the run itself would have killed me. Most impressive!

Way to go Clayton! 15-20 miles a day on the treadmill? That is insane, I would get sooooo bored!

That is the coolest thing ever. But I've got to say that no heidi post in one week has really been reflecting in my grades and overall happiness. I think you should not be so selfish with your humor and share it more often. :) Or just start making little keychains of yourself for everyone... But back to Clayton, that's seriously so flipping awesome, this summer Kat and I are gonna be Forrest Gump/Clayton and run like mega!!! :)
