Some say if you fall off of the horse you need to get back on again.
Four years ago I wrecked mt. biking on Slickrock in Moab.
Broke my nose in four places (who knew that their were four bones to break in the nose!?!), received two beautiful black eyes and had a bunch of other gnarly cuts, scrapes and bruises.
FLASH TO THE PRESENT
Yes, that was FOUR YEARS AGO and I am finally getting back on the bike. It's not like I haven't been on my bike, cuz I have. I just haven't been mt. biking. Go on and say that I'm a wuss people (you know who you are and you know you want to).
PROVIDENCE CANYON
PROVIDENCE CANYON
You might remember a previous post on this same canyon when Dora the Explorer (me) and her sidekick Clayton the Explorer went in search of a mysterious waterfall. If you remember correctly I left very bitter with that canyon because we couldn't find the waterfall...AGAIN (this was the 2nd exploration in two years). Anyways we filled our bike tires with air, packed them into the Subaru and headed to Providence Canyon
Oh Providence Canyon why do you hate us? Why must you entice us to travel up your rocky road and then shoot us home with disappointment? Things were going pretty smoothly...at first. The only rough spot was realizing how out of biking shape we were. We sounded like a bunch of 95 year olds who who have been smoking 12 packs of cigarettes a day since they were 9. Then it happened, Clayton's pedal started coming loose (you were expecting me to crash and burn weren't you?!? So sorry to disappoint). He thought that we could make it a little farther, but his bike pedal had different ideas. Unfortunately we weren't riding with our tool belts on that day so we didn't have a handy screwdriver to put it back together. So around we turned. This is where panic and flashbacks set in for me. We had only been riding for about 20 minutes before we had the pedal mishap, but turning around and heading back to the car felt like forever to me. I was going downhill when I crashed in Moab. Fortunately for me (and our insurance) I made it safely back. However, my brakes might need some fine tuning now.
Doesn't he look thrilled!?!
The LOVELY couple
Our comic relief. Some people really get into paintballing. I don't know if you can see, but this guy is wearing a CAMOUFLAGED GORILLA looking paintball suit.
That is all

I WAS expecting more of a crash story. The pics are lovely of your nose :)
Hey, I bet the gorilla man rigged your bikes because you were in his territory. You just couldn't see him because of the camo. Watch out next time.
Oh, and you should probably mention to people WHY you had your accident---like the day of the week you were riding, hmmmmmmm ;)
