Update on the randomness we call our lives
Since we back from Hawaii back in January our lives have been...well B-O-R-I-N-G. And I don't like it. We have decided to finally bite the bullet and redo all of the flooring in our house and paint...everything. That excites some people, but not me. Well...it will excite me when it is all done. Until then all the decisions and thought of future work destroying our weekends (weekends are sacred) are killing me/us. If you are an interior designer and would like to give us ideas(for FREE of course) please give me a call ASAP.
The house has taken up the majority of our lives as of lately, but we have been able to squeeze in some non house related events.
OH CHRISTMAS TREE, OH CHRISTMAS TREE
So once we got back from Hawaii we decided that maybe, just maybe it was time to get rid of our Christmas Tree. Our original plan was to stick it in the snow at some random location (like Walmart) and see how long it lasted before someone removed it. However, with the lack of snow this winter (don't get me wrong I'm not complaining) this plan was not possible. So at the beginning of February (i think) we threw it on top of the car and found a big dumpster to threw it in. I'm sure Logan City was thrilled to find it there.
Kamin
We have been to Kamin once before, but that was close to 6 years ago. Neither of us really remembered what it was like. On Saturday's they have a small buffet from 11am-3pm for $7.99. We decided to hit it up. Oh yeah Kamin is a Thai restaurant. We both liked it, but the food was a little on the warm side instead of the hot side. But that was the buffet food. I'm sure the food off of the menu is fine. Oh and can I brag about how awesome I am getting at using chopsticks...because I am!
Kami's Birthday dinner
Kami had a birthday. I tried to duplicate Marc's Lovers Longcake Delite (w/berries) a.k.a the awesome Strawberry Shortcake that Marc makes for us in Hawaii. I think Marc's is better, but everyone seemed to love it. I mostly wanted to post this picture for Jodie so she could see the creation (although the picture quality is horrible).
Oscars
No we did not attend, but after Kami's birthday dinner we watched a bit as we were getting ready for bed. All I can say is "Pull your leg back in Jolie." Not a fan of hers. Never have been and never will be.
Tulips
Clayton once made the comment that he was worried that all my hormonal meltdowns (that every girl gets...right? right?) were melting away my brain cells. A couple of weeks ago on a Monday morning after a particular weekend of meltdowns who shows up with these tulips? Yep...Clayton. So not only does he put up with my craziness but bring me flowers too. Pretty awesome guy I've got.
Oh and speaking of flowers...they come in vases. One of my favorite cereal bowls that I use every morning is a vase. Strange, but it is the perfect shape and size.
Slackwater Pizza
We subscribe to Salt Lake Magazine. Once a year they give out dining awards for the state of Utah. Slackwater Pizza in Ogden (I know...Ogden...who would have guessed) was awarded Best Restaurant in Northern Utah. After a particular long day of looking at hardwood and carpet we decided to try it out. It did not disappoint. Here are the Smoked Pork Chili-Verde Nachos (smoked pork, layered with green chili sauce, home made tortilla chips, three cheeses, and finally topped with chimichurri cream sauce). Oh my gosh. they were huge and sooooooo good.
The pizza's were personal size but they were huge too. Here is the California Sunrise - house made green dressing, roasted chicken, peppered bacon, three cheese blend, topped off off with sun-dried tomatoes, slices of avocado, and julienned baby spinach (yep I pulled that directly from the website)And the Taste of the Islands - Cilantro & lime cream base, three cheese blend, topped with a tequila infused shrimp ceviche; Pineapple, red onion, jalapeno, green onion, bell peppers & shrimp
Everything was so good. We definitely ordered too much since we took home THREE, yes THREE take out boxes. When we go back I want to try this "Beautiful Disaster - Peanut Butter, nuttella, banana slices & marscapone cheese are put on top of our pizza dough, covered and cooked calzone style, finished off with a light sugar dusting." Doesn't that sound amazing.
Candyland
And finally...winterBINGO "Play a Game from Your Childhood" - CHECK
One particular boring Friday or Saturday night we scoured WalMart for one of my favorite games from when I was a kid. It was a $7 score.
Well that's all. Here's to hoping and praying that we will get everything for the house done within the next month so our lives can get a little more exciting.

I really don't think your lives would ever be boring. You guys just have too much fun! What a nice husband to bring you tulips. They were so pretty, and so spring-like! The food looked absolutely yummy. I'M STARVING!!!! love you
Those pizza's looked good. So was that your candyland Tydon was playing with at mom and dad's?
Can't wait to see the updates. I hate choosing too. it must be in the genes.
First of all, have I told you lately how impressed I am with how many pictures Clayton lets you take?? Secondly, those nachos look AMAZING!! And lastly, I love that you guys keep your Christmas tree till February!
Ugh. Jan and Feb are always boring to me too. And, I completely agree with you about Jolie...what the crap? However, I did laugh my can off when she presented an award (she stood like that again) and then the three crazies that got the award each took a turn standing just like her at the microphone. It was hilarious.
1. That pizza looks fantastic.
2. When should we resume Holmgren/McMurdie feast before the fast night??
3. I'm excited to see the pictures on your house! And I know what you mean. Not fun at all.
4. That is the weirdest leg picture ever.
