Since Halloween was on Sunday we celebrated all weekend long.
FRIDAY
Carved pumpkins and took the traditional "pumpkin head" pictures. Earlier in the week Clayton said, "Heidi would you please try to put a little more effort into your pumpkin this year?" TRANSLATION: please don't do the triangle eyes again. Obeying my husbands wishes I did round eyes...and even went as far as to make eye balls (I know! my talent amazes even me). However, the toothless grin is a classic that I refused to change.
SATURDAY
The next morning we woke up and did some work for the dead (aka. went to the Temple). After that we hit up the corn maze at The American West Heritage Center. It was raining so the only ones there were the 3 kids on the pony rides and us. What!?! People don't want to trudge through the mud in the rain and cold. Go figure.
Looks warm doesn't it!
The soggy hay jump. Wanted to steal the umbrella of the mom with the three kids on the pony ride and pretend that I was Mary Poppins, but decided that stealing an umbrella from a mom and her 3 kids when it is pouring rain is kinda mean.
Dark maze. I guess it isn't so dark when you have a camera no is it!
SUNDAY
We started the season of Pumpkin by making Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread. Let's be honest...pumpkin in the spring=not so great. Pumpkin in the summer=sick. Pumpkin in the Fall=amazing. Later we headed to the inlaws for dinner and then out came the gasoline for the traditional pumpkin burn.
Chole enjoyed the show.
And that is a Halloween W-R-A-P.

I love the pumpkin head pictures!
I think its hilarious that you guys burn pumpkins. Wasn't there a year where you attended something where they blew something up?
ha haa haaaaaaaaaaaaa... you guys rock! thanks for the fun. I look forward to these BURNING pics EACH year. so silly.
I'm going to have to say, Heidi, your pumpkin is number one in my book. This is Terra, by the way. And tell Clayton not to get mad at me...I have been working on a time when Josh and Mike have nights off so we can have our monthly HMH get together. Don't worry, it's going to happen.
hahahahaha! Love your halloween traditions. Definitely not something you learned at home, but fun nonetheless. Absolutely Love it all, especially burning the pumpkings. Maybe you'll have to come over some halloween and teach us!
